Figure 17 shows the energy flow of Pakistan's energy system with detailed end use sectors in 2015. The primary energy sources of fossil oil, biomass, and fossil coal contribute 134.3, 300.2, and 134.3 TWh to the energy system respectively.
A key feature of Pakistan's future energy system is the huge increase in demand for desalinated water, which accounts for almost 19% of the final energy demand. This share of energy for desalination is among the highest in the world.
