The coalition of 20 industrial clusters from 10 countries – which together represent comparable annual emissions to Australia – commit to reaching net zero. New annual report reveals roadmap to decarbonize the global industrial sector, which currently represents 30% of global CO ₂ emissions.
The initiative’s three new signatories, all port-anchored industrial clusters, are: Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area (TEDA, China): TEDA includes major industries such as high-end manufacturing, information technology, new energy sources, chemical materials and healthcare.
The north-west industrial cluster covers a wide geographical area (which is not confined to England, but includes parts of north-east Wales). It has the greatest concentration of advanced manufacturing and chemical production in the UK.
Three industry leaders from China, France and the United States join World Economic Forum initiative, Transitioning Industrial Clusters, for a decarbonized and more competitive global supply chain.
